A couple weeks ago my oldest 2 were in VBS and I got to spend some one-on-one time with my 2 year old. She doesn’t last too long in front of the camera, but she made it long enough for me to capture a few shots. It has been so much fun being home with her this summer…she was barely talking at the beginning of the summer…and now she talks our ear off…usually narrating what I’m doing or always asking what I’m doing.

A Date with my 5 year old July 29, 2009

This is one of the first smiles I get to wake up to each day! He’s my snuggler, my charmer, my comedian, and yes…even my little stinker. When you are one of three and especially the middle child it’s pretty great when you can get some one-on-one time with mom or dad. But, this one cost me! His bribery…obviously a bag of candy to begin with…and then a trip to the D.Q. for a brownie batter blizzard. His big sister and I had a girls night out a few nights prior and she happened to spill the beans about her D.Q. trip…so we had to keep things somewhat equal. But, I think mom got the better end of the deal…some great shots of her 5 year old. He’s claims he’s not my little man any more, now that he’ll soon be heading to kindergarten he thinks he’s my “BIG” little man.

Little Miss “A” July 16, 2009

The one thing I love about my job is watching kids grow and change over the years. I have had the opportunity to photograph Little Miss “A” since she was one and she has definitely changed over the years. Even the fact of her letting me take her pictures has changed! Last summer she gave poor mom a run for her money and the fact that we were bombarded with mosquitoes didn’t help either. This time she jabbered away and even had her own poses and spots to try out. Thanks for the fun session!

A super hero and his sidekick July 8, 2009

This is the age where it starts to get a bit easier taking their pictures again. Can you guess how old he is?? They don’t run from you and make you work up a sweat and they want to tell you all about their interests and what they like to do. Spiderman was this little guy’s buddy and he stuck with us through the whole session. He was even on a band aid on his knee. I am thinking they probably both needed a bath when the night was over. Thanks for the fun session “B”.

A Newborn & 2 year old July 1, 2009

This session brought back so many memories…my oldest 2 were the exact same ages apart as these too – mom trying to recover from a C-section while keeping up with a 2 year old and taking care of a newborn – 2 year old not understanding why mommy just can’t pick her up and hold her…so much work to start with.. but what a great blessing in the end…they’ll always have each other to be buddies with!!

If you know me well, you know that I am a very indecisive person (which I hate to admit). I know that I can really drive my husband crazy because of it too! When proofing pictures I can spend so much time trying to decide…does it look better in black & white…should I add a texture…should I crop it some more…and it can go on forever. I couldn’t decide which way I like this picture best, so you get to decide. I’m leaning more with the BW, but post a comment and let me know your thoughts!

Cities Sessions

Filed under: Children PICS — mastershand @ 4:59 am

A couple weeks ago I spent a few days in the cities visiting some friends and getting in a few photo sessions too. I’m getting behind on my blogging and editing, so here are just a few to share from that day. The first 2 were taken in the pouring rain as my friend was holding something above my camera and her daughter was wedged into a doorway. The second was taken in the doorway of a big catholic church – not too great of lighting, but at least we didn’t get wet. Who would have thought you could get pictures in the pouring rain?? What a little determination can do!!

Mr. Explorer June 12, 2009

Filed under: Children PICS — mastershand @ 12:30 am

This little guy was quite the explorer and taste tester! Everything went in the mouth from rocks to twigs to leaves and even shells…or at least he attempted before mom and dad grabbed it from him. He had his first try at seafood…wonder if he likes clams?? And check out dad’s cool car!
