Little Miss “A” July 16, 2009

Filed under: Children PICS — mastershand @ 2:41 am

The one thing I love about my job is watching kids grow and change over the years. I have had the opportunity to photograph Little Miss “A” since she was one and she has definitely changed over the years. Even the fact of her letting me take her pictures has changed! Last summer she gave poor mom a run for her money and the fact that we were bombarded with mosquitoes didn’t help either. This time she jabbered away and even had her own poses and spots to try out. Thanks for the fun session!

Jodi from MCP Actions is offering a chance to win a Tamron lens. The winner chooses from the 18-270mm or the 28-300 mm lens. To enter you must post either on your blog/facebook/twitter. So here’s my entry – you can check out the details at http://mcpactions.com/blog/ Oh how I would love to own one of these lenses!

More to share July 8, 2009

I shared a few from Miss “T”‘s session in the prairie grass, but wanted to post just a few more from her urban session. I love the bright colors in her shirt and the torn jeans!

A super hero and his sidekick

Filed under: Children PICS — mastershand @ 6:12 am

This is the age where it starts to get a bit easier taking their pictures again. Can you guess how old he is?? They don’t run from you and make you work up a sweat and they want to tell you all about their interests and what they like to do. Spiderman was this little guy’s buddy and he stuck with us through the whole session. He was even on a band aid on his knee. I am thinking they probably both needed a bath when the night was over. Thanks for the fun session “B”.

A Newborn & 2 year old July 1, 2009

This session brought back so many memories…my oldest 2 were the exact same ages apart as these too – mom trying to recover from a C-section while keeping up with a 2 year old and taking care of a newborn – 2 year old not understanding why mommy just can’t pick her up and hold her…so much work to start with.. but what a great blessing in the end…they’ll always have each other to be buddies with!!

If you know me well, you know that I am a very indecisive person (which I hate to admit). I know that I can really drive my husband crazy because of it too! When proofing pictures I can spend so much time trying to decide…does it look better in black & white…should I add a texture…should I crop it some more…and it can go on forever. I couldn’t decide which way I like this picture best, so you get to decide. I’m leaning more with the BW, but post a comment and let me know your thoughts!

Cities Sessions

Filed under: Children PICS — mastershand @ 4:59 am

A couple weeks ago I spent a few days in the cities visiting some friends and getting in a few photo sessions too. I’m getting behind on my blogging and editing, so here are just a few to share from that day. The first 2 were taken in the pouring rain as my friend was holding something above my camera and her daughter was wedged into a doorway. The second was taken in the doorway of a big catholic church – not too great of lighting, but at least we didn’t get wet. Who would have thought you could get pictures in the pouring rain?? What a little determination can do!!

Love is in the Air June 29, 2009

Filed under: wedding — mastershand @ 5:44 am

It was such an honor to be asked to photograph this beautiful couples wedding yesterday. A little over 3 years ago she took care of my oldest 2 children for about 5 months. She was fabulous with them and I know she will make a fantastic wife! Despite all the bouts of down pours we still managed to make it outdoors for pictures between all the storms (I think there were 3 to be exact). They decided to wait to see each other until she walked the aisle, so finally towards the end of the night we got to sneak away to capture some moments of just the 2 of them! Congratulations and may you be blessed with a lifetime of happiness!
